Dog Friendly: A North Norfolk Day Out

Charlie is 5 months old and had never been to the beach so this weekend we decided to change that! We live about an hour from the North Norfolk coast, where there are so many really nice little towns and beaches, so we made a whole day of it.

We started off in Cromer. The weather was extremely wet and windy, but we donned our wellies and warm coats and went down to the beach. We had to walk into the water to encourage Charlie to go in, but it wasn’t long before he was chasing the waves (and running from them!) He was freezing after playing so we dried him off and warmed up in the car.

We then went along the coast a few miles to the beach town of Sheringham. I loved this little town, there were so many pretty shops and cafes. We realised this was also the first time we had really taken Charlie for a walk around a town! We live in a very rural small village and when we do go to the town it’s because we have a long list of jobs to do so never take Charlie with us. There were a lot of new sights and sounds for him to explore!

I had done a little bit of research before the weekend to find a dog friendly pub where we would also be able to get a really nice dinner. As it was starting to get dark we headed to Holt, where we had booked a table in the bar at The Kings Head.Β Holt is another really lovely town in North Norfolk which has been recommended a number of times so we had to check it out! The Kings Head is lovely and so friendly. Charlie got all the attention from lots of people in the bar and we felt very welcome being there with an excited puppy! We had a table in the snug area, which was great as there were only a couple of tables, so not too many distractions for Charlie. We had a fantastic meal while Charlie had a treat under the table to keep him quiet.

We all had a great day out so I had to share our pictures and video from Charlie’s first day at the beach!
