I’ve been looking for different places around Norfolk where you can take dogs for off lead walks, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
This weekend we took Charlie to Sandringham Country Park, which is very dog friendly with lots of people walking their pups there. Dogs are allowed in the country park, but not the house, museum and gardens. It’s open year round, doesn’t charge for entry and there is free parking, toilets, a cafe and a shop nearby. It’s really easy and accessible for a nice walk.
There are miles of forest walks here, which is great for Charlie as he loves to sniff around and explore different smells and textures. There is also a pathed route, so if you forget your wellies it’s not too much of a problem!
Lots of people walk their dogs here, so lots of new pups for Charlie to say hi to! He is getting really good at waiting for me to walk next to him before going up to other dogs or people. He is very confident for a 5 month old puppy, but is very nice natured when he approaches other dogs, by letting them sniff around him first. Of course if they want to play then he is always up for that! His recall when distracted by other dogs is also good, he came with us when called every single time today.
As I mentioned, I’m always looking for new places to take Charlie in Norfolk, so please let me know if you can recommend anywhere. We’re also going to the Cotswolds for a weekend in a couple of weeks time, so if you have recommendations for there please comment.
Here’s some pictures from our walk at Sandringham today:
