It’s been a pretty busy couple of weeks so sorry for being a bit quiet on the blog front. My husband is away so Charlie and I have come up to York to spend a couple of weeks with my mum. I always love coming back here, and my mum spoils Charlie rotten so he loves it too! He is pretty good at travelling and is always really good in the car. It takes us about 3.5 hours to get from our house in Norfolk up to York. On longer journeys I put his big crate in the car and he usually just goes to sleep, popping his head up every now again to have a look out of the window.
He settles in pretty quickly at my mums too. As I said I bring his big crate up, so he has his little den and familiarity. It’s not long before he is walking around like he owns the place.
The thing about staying somewhere else is finding somewhere I can walk Charlie where I can let him off the lead for a good run around. In walking distance from my mums house is an area called Clifton Ings. It’s basically the floodplain upstream for the River Ouse, to try to prevent flooding in the city centre. When we first got here it was super muddy, I had to bath Charlie every day after our walk (he hates it…) but the past few days the sun has been shining so it’s dried up a bit.
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky today, so I decided to take out my camera and get a few snaps of Charlie enjoying his walk. I hope you like them!
Here’s a little map of the route we took if you are looking for a nice place to walk the dog in York:
